I could install all the extensions I wanted in Chrome and Netflix is running fine. Kanjitomo also works and it is making reading manga as easy as never before not that I ever read much manga before but that is a different story.

But seriously, I have had so much study time that was not a lot of fun recently because of the JLPT so this is bringing some very much needed fun back into my studies. You can choose the first subtitle as usual in the Netflix player and then add the second one with this extension. Both subtitles are shown adjacent to each other with first on top and second just below that.

To display subtitles in 2 languages on Netflix, first, install Dual-Caption to your web browser. When installed, this extension shows an overly when you move the cursor on top of Netflix player. As you can see in the screenshot, it sits on the left side of the player with a button to add the second subtitle accompanied by options to copy current caption, bookmark current caption, and access bookmarked captions.

To show subtitles in 2 subtitles, first, make sure that the video has more than one subtitles. Then, select the first subtitle from the Netflix interface. But like many other appearance options, you have to do it from the profile settings menu. However, Netflix offers many languages. Although Netflix says that those languages should be the ones most relevant to you based on your region, that might not always be the case.

Maybe your device is of an older generation. Some and Smart TVs are known to have issues with subtitles management. Any changes you make while watching a Kids title will be one-time events. The fix is to watch a title that falls under the Teens or above rating. One more reason why you may not be able to turn off titles has to do with licensing.

Some titles will always have subtitles turned on when viewed in another region. This may also force you to see subtitles in the primary language of your region. You can make many adjustments to the subtitles. But unlike turning the subtitles on or off and changing the language, you have to do this from your Account settings.
